Neal O. Bond, 46, of Saylorsburg, died Sunday, Aug. 30, in Chestnuthill Township. He was the husband of Paula Hagstrand) Bond. They had observed their 20th anniversary in June.
Born in Lehighton, he was a son of Wright Bond of Stroudsburg and the late Geneva Van Buskirk) Bond.
A 1981 graduate of Pocono Mountain High School, he owned and operated J & N Bond Plumbing Inc., Saylorsburg for the past 21 years. Prior to that he had worked for M V Keiper Plumbing, Pocono Lake, for seven years.
He was a member and treasurer of the West End Wings and a member of the Experimental Aircraft Assn. Chapter 839 out of the Pegasus Airport, Saylorsburg. He was a past member of the Monroe County Bee Keepers Assn. and a former member of the Old Time Farm Equipment Club.
He enjoyed camping and fishing with his wife and kids and was very active in his children's activities that included West End Little League, the PV Storm Baseball Team, West End Soccer League, and Cub Scout Pack and Troop 98.
He was a member of Zion United Lutheran Church, Brodheadsville.
In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by two sons, Eric and Evan Bond at home; two sisters, Carolyn Altemose and her husband, Norman, of Stroudsburg and Jean Ruggiero of Pen Argyl; two brothers, Ralph Bond and his wife, Carol, of Saylorsburg and James Bond of Stroudsburg; his mother-in-law Mabel Hagstrand of Whitehall; sister-in-law Linda Hausman of Whitehall; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his faithful dog, Lucky.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bond.
A visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3, at the Kresge Funeral Home, Route 209, Brodheadsville and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday, Sept. 4, at Zion United Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, at the church with the Rev. Ann Melot officiating. Burial will be in Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville.
